Young Engineer Charles Britzius Lifetime Capstone Design Future City

Young Engineer of the Year Award

This award is designed to recognize outstanding achievements by an engineer or other science and technology professional less than 35 years of age. Nominees are judged on the basis of educational and collegiate achievements; professional society activities; technical society activities; civil and humanitarian activities; continuing competence; engineering achievements; and professional experience.

The award is typically presented at an awards banquet that is held during annual National Engineers Week.  It is open to individuals who meet the following requirements:

  • 35 years of age or younger

  • Individual must have at least one engineering degree that has been earned through completion of an A.B.E.T. accredited (or international equivalent accreditation board) engineering program. Qualifying degrees must be equivalent to or exceed the requirements of a Bachelor's Degree.

  • Must be outstanding in one or more areas such as engineering, science or technology;

  • Should exhibit significant contribution to society through efforts in other areas such as the following::

    • Civic (Community Service )

    • Education

    • Patents

    • Papers or publications
